Job Description
The Member Technical Staff – Quality (MTS-Q) position is part of the engineering team and reports directly to the Head of Engineering. On a technical level, MTS-Q is responsible for the accuracy, precision, completeness, and overall quality of SepiSolar’s deliverables. On an organizational level, the MTS-Q role is a support role for the PV designers, Project Manager, and Head of Engineering to help identify and retire all potential vulnerabilities (process, technical, or organizational) that lead to company failures.
This is a mid-level position, and we will provide all necessary training to teach you all the aspects of working in PV and smart-grid industries. We're looking for results-oriented candidates with a passion for energy, and who are genuinely interested in long-term, sustainable growth for our country, environment, and economy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Developing and maintaining quality control and quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Performing internal design reviews
  • Managing interactions and performing administrative duties with external professional engineers
  • Administering and processing utility interconnection applications
  • Refining existing policies, procedures, and developing new tools (i.e., CAD, Excel, Salesforce, etc.) as necessary to address failures and prevent errors / omissions
  • Providing cross-functional feedback to internal and external teams, internal management, as well as to partners and customers
  • Providing training and resources to internal / external teams as well as to customers and partners as necessary to facilitate the most effective workflow and mitigate root cause failures
  • Populating and correcting databases to ensure project information is appropriately streamlined and controlled
  • Troubleshooting with external parties as necessary to reach project completion
  • Document tracking & Revision Control
  • Salesforce management
  • Prompt response to emails and phone calls
  • Additional duties and tasks may be assigned
Education or Desired License and Certificates:
  • 4-year college degree completed (engineering or science degree preferred, but not required)
  • CAD and Excel experience required
  • Strong experience with construction codes and standards
  • Professional Engineering or Architects’ License a plus, but not required
  • Grid Alternatives / Volunteer or previous hands-on installation training a plus
  • NABCEP certification a plus
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong detail-orientation and proofreading skills; attention-to-detail is a must.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Superior communication skills both verbally and written with various corporate levels, both internally and externally
  • Strong foundation in mathematical, engineering, and analytical principles
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to communicate complex systems with both technical and non-technical personnel (teaching experience a major plus)
  • Time management skills and ability to manage large volumes of projects
  • Knowledge of electrical design theory and concepts a plus
  • Knowledge of mechanical design a plus
  • Knowledge of residential and commercial construction a plus
